Debt Free Living
Become Debt Free!
Debt free living, what happened to that dream? You wake up one morning and you're up to your neck in debt. How will you ever become debt free? Your stress level is at an all time high, it's having an adverse affect on your daily activities and consuming almost all of your daily thoughts. Debt free living is your dream but you don't have a clue where to turn.
OK, one step at a time, you can still enjoy debt free living. Step back and try to take a look at things with a clear mind. Your current debt is manageable and you can become debt free. Maybe you simply have too many bills and just can't handle the payments on them all; one of the first options to consider is debt consolidation.
A debt consolidation loan may help you become debt free by consolidating most or all of your current debt into a more manageable monthly payment for you. This may be your first step toward debt free living.
The next thing to do is, sit down and decide what amount of money you can afford to pay monthly. You need this to be a reasonable amount of money, but you must allow for some money to pay yourself so you can contribute some to savings, avoid sliding deeper into debt and get closer to your goal of debt free living.
The next step is to rid yourself of the credit cards you currently have. I've been there, you see something you just have to have and you don't have the cash; Out comes the credit card and you're deeper in debt. I know, you plan to use them "ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES". The emergency is usually wanting the latest gadget, a tank of gas, dinner out and before you know it your credit card is over its limit. If you don't have credit cards, you can't use them to run up more debt. Keep your goal in mind.
Lastly, you need to solve the problem by taking care of the real issue. Start saving, maybe only 5-10% of your take home pay, but start saving now. Pay cash for the things you want or need. The satisfaction of buying something you can't pay for today, will haunt you in the end. Stop and think about every purchase you plan to make and try to decide if the purchase is rational or something you just want. If it's just based on want, think about how not having any bills will make you feel, then imagine the stress of being up to your neck in debt again. If you truly want to be successful and get out of debt I believe your desire to purchase this item will soon fade away.
Follow these simple steps, and your goal will be achieved! We are not trying to over simplify it, but it really isn't that hard. Just pay off one bill at a time. Start with the smallest one you have so you can see some
immediate results. This will give you the encouragement to continue. The only things required are determination on your part and some time. For more help, read our article on the left and we will help you define what it is that you are trying to accomplish.
